À la suite de la restructuration de l'IASC, l'une des premières décisions du nouveau Board a été, le 1er avril 2001, de rebaptiser l'IASC et les normes IAS, désormais dénommés respectivement International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) et normes internationales en matière d'information financière (IFRS).
Naar aanleiding van de nieuwe opzet van het IASC heeft het nieuwe bestuur op 1 april 2001 in een van zijn eerste besluiten de naam IASC veranderd in International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) en voor wat betreft toekomstige internationale standaarden voor jaarrekeningen de naam IAS in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
