Le Collège de Résolution belge fait également partie du mécanisme de résolution unique qui a été mis sur pied par le biais du Règlement (UE) n° 806/2014 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 15 juillet 2014 établissant des règles et une procédure uniformes pour la résolution des établissements de crédit et de certaines entreprises d'investissement dans le cadre d'un mécanisme de résolution unique et d'un Fonds de résolution bancaire unique (aussi appelé le " Single Resolution Mechanism " - SRM).
Het Belgisch Afwikkelingscollege maakt ook onderdeel uit van het gemeenschappelijk afwikkelingsmechanisme dat in het leven werd geroepen via Verordening (EU) Nr. 806/2014 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 15 juli 2014 tot vaststelling van eenvormige regels en een eenvormige procedure voor de afwikkeling van kredietinstellingen en bepaalde beleggingsondernemingen in het kader van een gemeenschappelijk afwikkelingsmechanisme en een gemeenschappelijk afwikkelingsfonds (ook het Single Resolution Mechanism genoemd - SRM).

Dans ce cadre européen de résolution, le " Single Resolution Board " (SRB) a été créé. Il a des compétences similaires au Collège de Résolution belge, mais il se situe au niveau européen et concerne des établissements ou groupes significatifs étant sous contrôle direct de la Banque centrale européenne dans le cadre du Mécanisme de Supervision unique (" Single Supervisory Mechanism " (SSM)) et des groupes transnationaux.
Binnen dit Europese kader voor afwikkeling werd de Single Resolution Board (SRB) opgericht, die gelijkaardige bevoegdheden heeft als het Belgisch Afwikkelingscollege, maar dan op Europees niveau, en met betrekking tot significante instellingen of groepen, instellingen of groepen die onder direct toezicht staan van de Europees Centrale Bank in het kader van het Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) en grensoverschrijdende groepen.
