Les fonds vautour ou « vulture funds » sont des fonds de couverture qui rachètent à des prix extrêmement bas des obligations (des créances) de pays pauvres, souvent accablés de dettes, pour ensuite entamer une procédure judiciaire à l'usure et les obliger à payer la valeur nominale (le montant initial de la créance) de ces obligations au moment de leur émission, majorée des intérêts moratoires.
