− Mr President, the regulation implementing the bilateral safeguard clause in the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement is a very important piece of legislation, not only because, once adopted, it will provide the necessary protection for the EU industry if needed, but also because this is the first trade dossier on which the European Parliament is involved as co-legislator.
– Herr Präsident! Bei der Verordnung zur Implementierung der bilateralen Schutzklausel im Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der EU und Korea handelt es sich um einen sehr wichtigen Rechtsakt, was nicht nur darauf zurückführen ist, dass er der EU-Industrie gegebenenfalls den erforderlichen Schutz bietet, sondern auch auf die Tatsache, dass dies das erste Handelsdossier ist, in das das Europäische Parlament als Mitgesetzgeber involviert ist.
