Ik hoop dat de inauguratie van Barack Obama als president van de Verenigde Staten de internationale inspanningen, samenwerking en maatregelen een nieuwe impuls zal geven en dat er echt actie zal worden ondernomen, zoals steun voor de instelling van een no-fly zone boven Darfur, en ik hoop dat we in het nieuwe jaar eindelijk inhoud zullen geven aan onze mooie woorden en onze morele verplichting.
I hope that the new impetus that the inauguration of Barack Obama as President of the United States will bring will renew international efforts, cooperation and action – real action such as the support for the establishment of a no-fly zone over Darfur – and that in the new year we will finally begin to live up to our fine words and to our moral obligation.
