Overwegende dat in artikel 16 van Verordening (EEG) nr. 404/93 is bepaald dat elk jaar aan de hand van een aantal marktparameters een geraamde balans moet worden opgesteld; dat deze balans vooral ten doel heeft prognoses inzake de produktie en het verbruik van bananen in de Gemeenschap en inzake de invoer van traditionele AC-bananen op te stellen, en op basis daarvan de verdere invoerbehoefte van de Gemeenschap en de omvang van het tariefcontingent te bepalen;
Whereas Article 16 of Regulation (EEC) No 404/93 provides for a forecast supply balance to be drawn up each year on the basis of a number of market parameters; whereas the main purpose of the supply balance is to establish the outlook for Community production and consumption and the forecast for imports of traditional ACP bananas, and hence the supply requirements for the Community market and the requisite tariff quota;
