TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Afwijkingen van artikel 9, lid 1, onder b), artikel 10, lid 1, onder c), en artikel 12 van Verordening (EU) nr. 1290/2013 zijn nodig om deelname van Afrikaanse organisaties te vragen en financiering daarvan mogelijk te maken alsmede, in het kader van gezamenlijke uitnodigingen tot het doen van voorstellen, samenwerking tussen het EDCTP2 en andere rechtspersonen.
Derogations from point (b) of Article 9(1), point (c) of Article 10(1) and Article 12 of Regulation (EU) No 1290/2013 are necessary in order to require participation and allow funding of African entities, and allow cooperation through joint calls between the EDCTP2 Programme and any other legal entity.

Such action might range from small-scale observer missions from African organisations during EU peacekeeping exercises to more comprehensive training programmes.

28. is ingenomen met het feit dat 15 Afrikaanse landen de besnijdenis van meisjes en vrouwen bij wet hebben verboden; verwacht dat de wetten ook dienovereenkomstig worden toegepast, hetgeen uiteindelijk in het belang is van de reproductieve gezondheid van vrouwen doordat gevaarlijke infecties en complicaties bij zwangerschappen en geboorten worden voorkomen; verzoekt de overige Afrikaanse landen waar nog vrouwenbesnijdenis voorkomt, ook wettelijke maatregelen te nemen om deze praktijken te verbieden; verzoekt de Afrikaanse landen met name om het "Protocol bij het Afrikaanse Handvest van de mensenrechten en de rechten van de persoon en van vrouwen in Afrika" (Maputo Protocol) zo spoedig mogelijk te ratificeren; dit protocol, dat in juli 2003 door de Afrikaanse Unie is aangenomen in de hoofdstad van Mozambique, verbiedt en veroordeelt alle schadelijke praktijken die de rechten van vrouwen schenden en roept de regeringen op om alle nodige maatregelen op het gebied van wetgeving, voorlichting en onderwijs te nemen om te zorgen dat er een eind komt aan deze praktijk; wenst in het bijzonder dat alle initiatieven ter zake worden aangemoedigd en gesteund;
28. Welcomes the fact that fifteen African states have made genital mutilation of girls and women illegal, thereby ultimately contributing to the reproductive health of women by preventing dangerous infections and complications in pregnancy and childbirth; calls on those African states where genital mutilation is still practised likewise to take legislative steps to prohibit it, and in particular calls on the African States to ratify as soon as possible the "Additional Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights and the Rights of Women in Africa" (Maputo Protocol) adopted in July 2003 by the Assembly of the African Union in the capital of Mozambique, which provides for the prohibition and condemnation of all harmful practices which violate respect for women's rights, and calls on the governments to adopt all legislative, information and educational measures needed to ensure an end to this practice; in particular calls for all the initiatives in this context to be encouraged and supported;
