Proposes the mobilisation of the Flexibility Instrument for EUR 50 million in order to finance the real needs for the Union's contribution to the Middle East peace process; reiterates, therefore, its support for long-term programming and sufficient funding for assistance to United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Palestine and the peace process; highlights the importance of endowing UNRWA with the necessary means to enable them to provide the essential services for which UNRWA has been mandated by the UN General Assembly, and to safeguard the safety and livelihood of refugees in the light of the instability in the region;

3. De organisatie kan worden geliquideerd, in het bijzonder als de organisatie besluit fase III niet uit te voeren, door middel van een verzoek, waarin de procedure en het tijdschema worden gespecificeerd, mits dit verzoek met tweederde meerderheid is goedgekeurd door de algemene vergadering.

By Resolution 61/105 of the General Assembly of the United Nations, adopted on 8 December 2006, the international community has agreed on the pressing need to adopt measures to protect vulnerable marine ecosystems from the destructive effects of bottom fishing activities through strict regulation of those activities by regional fisheries management organisations or arrangements or by States in respect of their flagged vessels operating in areas where no such organisations or arrangements are in place.

Ofschoon indertijd bepaalde besluiten waren genomen en de Organisatie de taak had gekregen te werken volgens de lijn van het Protocol van Kyoto en richtsnoeren uit te werken om de diverse landen en organisaties, zoals de Europese Unie, in staat te stellen de voorschriften uit te voeren, zal er kennelijk tijdens de volgende algemene vergadering van de Organisatie die van 28 september tot 8 oktober in Montreal zal worden gehouden een amendement worden ingediend dat het onmogelijk zou maken om marktinstrumenten in te zetten in de strijd tegen de vervuiling door vliegtuigmotoren. Daarmee zou een stap achteruit worden gezet in heel het beleid.
Decisions taken some time ago basically assigned to this Organisation a task very similar to that of implementing the Kyoto agreements, which involved drafting Organisation guidelines aimed at ensuring that the various countries or organisations such as the European Union could then implement the same standards. Now, however, we are faced with the possibility that at the Organisation’s next meeting, which will take place between 28 September and 8 October in Montreal, an amendment will be tabled which would remove the option to use market instruments to combat pollution from aircraft engines, thus making the whole policy take a step backwards.

In zijn aanbevelingen aan de algemene vergadering van de VN verzocht het ad-hoccomité inter alia de regionale commissies, de intergouvernementele organisaties en de niet-gouvernementele organisaties om het ad-hoccomité suggesties en mogelijke elementen te doen toekomen die in het voorstel voor een conventie kunnen worden overwogen.
