TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Encourages the Member States and the Commission to promote the importance of sustainable forest management, and hence the key role of forest biomass as one of the EU’s crucial renewable raw materials for reaching its energy targets; draws attention to the increasing demand for forest biomass, which means that sustainable forest management, in line with the EU forest strategy, should be even further strengthened and promoted, as it is crucial for biodiversity and the ecosystem function of forests, including the absorption of CO from the atmosphere; points out the need, therefore, for balanced exploitation of resources grown in the EU and imported from third countries, bearing in mind the very long regeneration time required for wood.

10 bis. De lidstaten kunnen in hun boekhouding van bosbeheer uit hoofde van artikel 3, lid 4 van het Protocol van Kyoto, antropogene broeikasgasemissies door bronnen en verwijderingen door putten als gevolg van het oogsten en omzetten van onder bosbeheer geboekte aanplantingen naar niet-bosbouwgrond opnemen, mits aan alle onderstaande eisen is voldaan:
10a. Member States may include in their accounting of forest management under Article 3(4) of the Kyoto Protocol, anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from the harvest and conversion of forest plantations accounted for under forest management, to non-forest land, provided that all of the requirements below are met:
