Het onderzoeklaboratorium stelt voorschriften op voor de bewaring (chemische stoffen, temperatuur), het transport en de opslag van melkmonsters, alsmede voor de tijd tussen de bemonstering van de melk en de analyse van het melkmonster; het onderzoeklaboratorium houdt daarbij rekening met het soort melk en de toe te passen analysemethode. De voorschriften worden in overleg met de bevoegde nationale instantie vastgesteld.
In accordance with the competent national authority, instructions concerning the conditions of preservation (chemical, temperature), transport, storage and time between sampling and analysis of milk shall be prepared by the testing laboratory according to the type of milk and the procedure of analysis to be used.
