The committee was also invited to attend a hearing held by the section for Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of the Economic and Social Committee on ‘Plant Protein Crops: their future and their role in animal nutrition’.

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development held a hearing on ‘Options to promote the cultivation of plant proteins in the EU’, and participated in a hearing on ‘The future and role of plant proteins in animal feeding’ by the Economic and Social Committee.

Op 16 januari heeft het Comité het vervolgadvies "Een nieuwe communautaire strategie inzake de voorziening van plantaardige eiwitten in de Europese Unie" uitgebracht.
On 16 January the ESC adopted an additional opinion entitled A New impetus for a plan for plant protein crops in the Community.
