TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Zij heeft zich in het bijzonder verheugd over de inwerkingtreding op 22 juni 2006 van het facultatief protocol bij het verdrag ter voorkoming van foltering, dat een complementair systeem van nationale en internationale inspectiebezoeken aan gevangenissen instelt.
It particularly welcomed the entry into force on 22 June 2006 of the optional protocol to the Convention Against Torture, which will establish a complementary system of mechanisms for national and international inspections of places of detention.

D. overwegende dat het Protocol van Kyoto slechts een eerste initiatief van de internationale gemeenschap in de strijd tegen klimaatverandering is, en overwegende dat dit niet betekent dat de andere maatregelen gericht op terugdringing van de emissies van broeikasgassen die op nationaal niveau kunnen worden genomen, naar het tweede plan moeten worden verwezen; die moeten integendeel als complementair worden beschouwd,
D. whereas the Kyoto Protocol is only a first initiative taken by the international community in the fight against climate change, and whereas this does not mean that other measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions which can be taken at national level should be relegated to a secondary role; on the contrary, they should be considered as complementary,

To this effect, the use of instruments such as Joint Implementation, the Clean Development mechanism and international emissions trading must be supplemental to domestic actions, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Kyoto Protocol and the Marrakech Accords.
