De Europese Commissie heeft vandaag haar goedkeuring gehecht aan het voorstel voor een gewijzigde begroting bij de begroting 2004 ten behoeve van de Europese toezichthouder voor gegevensbescherming die onlangs werd benoemd.
The European Commission today accepted the proposal for an amending budget to the 2004 budget to install the recently appointed European Data-protection Supervisor.

Krachtens dit besluit hebben de Raad en het Parlement op 22 december 2003 hun goedkeuring gehecht aan de benoeming van de Europese toezichthouder voor gegevensbescherming Peter Johan HUSTINX en zijn adjunct Joaquin BAYO DELGADO.

Volgens de in artikel 42 van Verordening (EG) nr. 45/2001 en in Besluit 1247/2002/EG bedoelde procedure hebben het Europees Parlement en de Raad onderling overeenstemming bereikt over de benoeming van de heer Peter Johan HUSTINX tot Europese toezichthouder voor gegevensbescherming en van de heer Joaquin BAYO DELGADO tot adjunct-toezichthouder voor gegevensbescherming.
In accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 42 of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 and in Decision No 1247/2002/EC, Parliament and Council bodies have reached common accord on the choice of Mr Peter Johan HUSTINX as European Data Protection Supervisor and of Mr Joaquin BAYO DELGADO as Assistant Data Protection Supervisor.
