Het Europees Parlement heeft diverse resoluties[40] aangenomen ter ondersteuning van de MDO's en de ICPD, waarin het de EU heeft gevraagd "het recht op de hoogst haalbare gezondheidsnorm krachtig te verdedigen, met inbegrip van de seksuele en reproductieve gezondheid en de daarop betrekking hebbende rechten en de integratie van hiv/aids, onder meer door het aanbieden van vrijwillige gezinsplanning, veilige abortus en voorbehoedsmiddelen"[41].
The European Parliament adopted several resolutions[40] in support of the MDGs and the ICPD in which it asked “for the EU to strongly defend the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including sexual and reproductive health and rights and the integration of HIV/AIDS, inter alia in the provision of voluntary family planning, safe abortion and contraceptives”[41].

Concentrations of PM10 particulate matter (the mass of all particles and droplets floating in the atmosphere that have a diameter of less than 10 µm or micro-metres, 10-6 m or one per million) often exceed health standards agreed by the European Commission. These standards set a maximum of 50 µg/m (micro-grams per cubic metre) of PM10 averaged over 24 hours, or 40 µg/m averaged over a year.
