14. merkt op dat een groot bedrag aan kredieten wordt voorgesteld voor de voortzetting van de meerjarenstrategie op het gebied van ICT; begrijpt dat het een aantal jaren kan duren vóór de projecten die momenteel lopen, voltooid zijn; is tevreden met de start van het e-commissie-programma; begrijpt dat momenteel een proefversie loopt van het e-vergaderingen-programma; vraagt meer informatie over de mogelijke kosten van dit programma en over het tijdstip wanneer het volledig zal zijn uitgevoerd; vraagt dat een kosten-batenanalyse wordt voorgelegd aan de Begrotingscommissie van het project inzake papierloze vergaderingen; moedigt zijn administratie aan het beleid voort te zetten dat erop is gericht de leden in staat te stellen effectieve, op nieuwe technologie gebaseerde instrumenten te gebruiken en het wetgevingsproces effectiever te ondersteunen, met name door het kennisbeheersysteem (Knowledge Management System) operationeel te maken; vraagt eveneens dat er meer gebruik wordt gemaakt van videovergaderen, wat de kosten voor reizen van zowel leden als personeel nog zou kunnen verlagen;

Notes the high level of appropriations proposed for the continuation of the multiannual ICT strategy; understands that it could take several years for projects currently being undertaken to be completed; welcomes the launch of the e-committee programme; understands that a pilot scheme for the e-meetings programme is currently underway; requests further information about the possible costs of this programme and when it will be fully implemented; calls for a cost-benefit analysis of the paperless meetings project to be presented to the Committee on Budgets; encourages its administration to pursue policies which will enable Members to use effective tools based on new technologies and support the legislative process more effectively, in particular through bringing the Knowledge Management System to fruition; by the same token calls for the increased use of video conferencing which could help to further reduce the travel costs of both Members and staff;

The project aims to reinforce existing labour migration management capacities, trough the creation of a stable multilateral framework, training activity addressing public officials as well as counselling activity on implementation structures The project activities will develop in three phases: Analysis on the field and definition of a working plan: the Steering Committee; Training, ICT counselling and internships; and dissemination of the foreign workers lists in the Italian labour market.
