The Group raised a number of recurrent issues, such as the state of play of institutional negotiations in view of the creation of the Agency on Fundamental Rights and the European Institute for Gender Equality, and of dialogue with the Council of Europe on the accession by the EU to the European Convention on Human Rights.

5. verzoekt de Raad en de Commissie in dat verband zo spoedig mogelijk al het nodige te doen op er bij de Tunesische autoriteiten op aan te dringen dat de Europese middelen die zijn toegekend aan projecten van het maatschappelijk middenveld worden gedeblokkeerd, dat een eind wordt gemaakt aan de pesterijen en de intimidatie van de mensenrechtenactivisten en de leden van de Tunesische Liga voor de rechten van de mens, de magistraten en de advocaten, dat meester Abbou wordt vrijgelaten en dat de wet tot instelling van het Instituut voor de opleiding van advocaten wordt opgeschort en herzien;
5. Calls, in this connection, on the Council and Commission to take all necessary measures without delay in its approaches to the Tunisian authorities to ensure that EU funds allocated to civil society projects are released, that the harassment and intimidation of human rights activists, the LTDH, judges and the association of barristers cease, that Maître Abbou is released and that the law setting up a law school is suspended and reviewed;

6. verzoekt de Raad en de Commissie in dat verband zo spoedig mogelijk al het nodige te doen op er bij de Tunesische autoriteiten op aan te dringen dat de Europese middelen die zijn toegekend aan projecten van het maatschappelijk middenveld worden gedeblokkeerd, dat een eind wordt gemaakt aan de pesterijen en de intimidatie van de mensenrechtenactivisten en de leden van de Tunesische Liga voor de rechten van de mens, de magistraten en de advocaten, dat meester Abbou wordt vrijgelaten en dat de wet tot instelling van het Instituut voor de opleiding van advocaten wordt opgeschort en herzien;
6. Calls, in this context, on the Council of Commission to make the necessary representations to the Tunisian authorities without delay to ensure that the European funds allocated to civil society projects are released, that the harassment and intimidation of human rights defenders and the LTDH, judges and the bar are brought to an end, that the lawyer, Mohammed Abbou is released and that the law setting up the lawyers training Institute is suspended and revised;
