24. stelt tot zijn bezorgdheid vast dat er enorme verschillen bestaan tussen de vertaalkosten van de verschillende EU-instellingen; vraagt daarom dat de interinstitutionele werkgroep vertaling de oorzaken van deze verschillen in kaart brengt en oplossingen voorstelt om het evenwicht te herstellen en te zorgen voor harmonisatie van de vertaalkosten onder optimale eerbiediging van kwaliteit en taalkundige verscheidenheid; merkt met het oog hierop op dat de werkgroep de samenwerking tussen de instellingen opnieuw moet opstarten, teneinde optimale werkwijzen en resultaten uit te wisselen en de gebieden te identificeren waar de samenwerking of de akkoorden tussen de instellingen kunnen worden versterkt; wijst erop dat de werkgroep zich eveneens tot doel moet stellen een uniforme methode voor de presentatie van de vertaalkosten voor alle instellingen te ontwikkelen om de analyse en vergelijking van de kosten te vereenvoudigen; wijst erop dat de werkgroep deze resultaten vóór eind 2015 moet presenteren; vraagt alle instellingen actief deel te nemen aan de werkzaamheden van de interinstitutionele werkgroep; herinnert in deze context aan het wezenlijke belang van de eerbiediging van de meertaligheid in de EU-instellingen, teneinde voor alle burgers van de Unie een gelijke behandeling en gelijke kansen te waarborgen;

Observes with concern the enormous disparities in translation costs for the different Union institutions; asks consequently that the Interinstitutional Working Group on Translation identify the causes of these disparities and put forward solutions that will bring this imbalance to an end and produce harmonised translation costs that fully respect quality and linguistic diversity; notes, with this in mind, that the Working Group should relaunch collaboration between the institutions in order to share best practice and outcomes and identify those areas in which cooperation or agreements between institutions may be strengthened; notes that the Working Group should also aim to establish a unified methodology for presentation of translation costs which all the institutions can use, in order to simplify the analysis and comparison of these costs; notes that the Working Group should present the results of this work before the end of 2015; calls on all the institutions to play an active part in the work of the Interinstitutional Working Group; recalls in this regard the fundamental importance of respect for multilingualism in the Union institutions in order to guarantee equal treatment and equal opportunities for all Union citizens;

112. Is of the opinion that improving the quality of EU legislation in the area of freedom, security and justice requires a joint effort by the Member States and the European institutions in order to improve the exchange of information on each national system and to provide accurate legal information (on national/regional applicable legislation and standards), as well as information on implementation and practices; calls for better interinstitutional coordination;
