4. stelt de Commissie in dit verband voor om zich in overeenstemming met paragraaf 17 van resolutie 2199 van de VN-Veiligheidsraad van 12 februari 2015 te concentreren op de bestrijding van de illegale handel in culturele kunstwerken, en dan met name voorwerpen die deel uitmaken van het cultureel erfgoed die sinds 6 augustus 1990 op illegale wijze zijn weggehaald uit Irak en sinds 15 maart 2011 uit Syrië; is van mening dat de Commissie voor een gecoördineerde benadering moet zorgen ter bestrijding van die illegale handel, waarbij er moet worden samengewerkt met degenen die op nationaal niveau verantwoordelijk zijn in de opsporingsdiensten, en in nauwe samenwerking met de Unesco en overige internationale organisaties zoals de ICOM (International Council of Museums), het International Committee of the Blue Shields (ICBS) van de ICOM, Europol, Interpol, Unidroit (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law) en de WCO (World Customs Organisation);

Suggests in this context that the Commission, in line with paragraph 17 of UN Security Council resolution 2199 of 12 February 2015, focus on preventing and fighting illicit trade in cultural artefacts, and specifically items of cultural heritage illegally removed from Iraq since 6 August 1990 and from Syria since 15 March 2011; takes the view that the Commission should devise a coordinated approach to combating such illegal trade, working in conjunction with those responsible at national level within investigation services and in close cooperation with UNESCO and other international organisations such as the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the ICOM International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS), Europol, Interpol, the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) and the World Customs Organisation (WCO);
