TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

As the compulsory contributions by the consumer members of the International Tropical Timber Organisation are assessed primarily in terms of the volume of tropical timber they import, the Union will contribute to the Administrative Account of the International Tropical Timber Organisation, once the 2006 Agreement enters into force, while the Member States, as well as the Union, will be able to make voluntary financial contributions to the planned actions via the voluntary contribution accounts of the Organisation.

The agreement identifies ways to ensure a credible licensing scheme as a measure to that only timber products that are legally produced enter the market, and confirms the very existence and operating mechanisms of the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO), established by the International Tropical Timber Agreement, 1983.

12. Invites the Commission to develop appropriate financing mechanisms for countries that decide to give priority to the longer-term objective of promoting sustainable forests rather than maximising short-term income and to investigate the possibility of reorganising the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) voting system so as to reward timber-producing countries that give priority to the conservation and sustainable use of forest resources;

d) Door input te blijven geven aan bestaande internationale fora , zoals de Internationale organisatie voor tropisch hout, de Overeenkomst inzake de internationale handel in bedreigde in het wild levende dier- en plantensoorten (CITES) en het VN-bossenforum (UNFF), en door verder aandacht te besteden aan de beoordeling in 2015 van het niet juridisch bindende Instrument voor bossen van het UNFF.
d) By continuing to provide input to existing international fora , such as the International Tropical Timber Organisation, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF), and giving further consideration to the 2015 review of the UNFF Non-Legally Binding Instrument on Forests.

3. Verklarend dat het door de Commissie voorgestelde actieplan inzake FLEGT gezien dient te worden in het kader van het vaste voornemen van de EU om actief bij te dragen tot internationale processen zoals het Bossenforum van de Verenigde Naties (UNFF), het uitgebreide werkprogramma van het Biodiversiteitsverdrag (CBD) met betrekking tot de biodiversiteit van de bossen, de Internationale Organisatie voor tropisch hout (ITTO) en de Overeenkomst inzake de internationale handel in bedreigde in het wild levende dier- en plantensoorten (CITES);
3. Recognising that the Action Plan on FLEGT proposed by the Commission forms part of the firm commitment made by the EU to actively contribute to international processes such as the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF), the expanded work programme of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) with regard to forest biological diversity, the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES);

* zij zal op basis van de ideeën in het actieplan met andere landen een dialoog aangaan via passende internationale bijeenkomsten zoals het VN-bossenforum, de Internationale Organisatie voor Tropisch Hout, de regionale FLEG-processen, het Asia Forest Partnership en het Congo Basin Forest Partnership;
* engage in dialogue, based on the ideas presented in the Action Plan, with other countries in appropriate international meetings, such as the UN Forum on Forests, International Tropical Timber Organisation, the regional FLEG processes, the Asia Forest Partnership and the Congo Basin Forest Partnership; and
