1. This is being spent on the following work: Chernobyl A projet to train Chernobyl staff in fire protection and decontamination; Design studies for the construction of mobile installations for decontamination around the plant; A project to transfer Western know-how regardind reactor decommissioning; A study to explore the safest way of enclosing the damaged reactor unit; A decontamination project to clean up the 800-odd nuclear dumps situated within a 30 km radius of the Chernobyl site; A regional project supporting Ukranian, Russian and Belorussian communities suffering economic and social damage because of the Chernobyl fall-out.
