Focusing on new flexible, scalable and repeatable unit operations, smart integration of new and existing processes, including technology convergence such as nanobiotechnology, as well as up-scaling to enable sustainable high precision large scale production of products and flexible and multi-purpose plants that ensures the efficient transfer of knowledge into industrial innovation.

De relevantie van een nieuwe infrastructuur voor nanobiotechnologie wordt momenteel onderzocht.
The appropriateness of a novel infrastructure in nanobiotechnology is being explored.

Bovendien zijn er in het meerjarenwerkprogramma van het Gemeenschappelijk Centrum voor onderzoek van de Commissie (DG JRC) eigen OO-activiteiten voor NN opgenomen op het gebied van bijvoorbeeld nanomaterialen, nanobiotechnologie, risicobeoordeling en metrologie.
Moreover, direct RD actions related to NN, in areas such as nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology, risk assessment and metrology, have been included in the Multi-Annual Work Programme of the Commission’s Joint Research Centre (DG JRC).

As far as nanobiotechnology is concerned, this Action Plan complements the Commission’s Strategy for Europe on Life Sciences and Biotechnology.[6]
