De Europese Unie is verheugd dat de Shura (consultatieve raad) van het Parlement van de Arabische Republiek Egypte de leden heeft benoemd van de nationale raad voor de mensenrechten, alsmede dat de voormalige secretaris-generaal van de Verenigde Naties, de heer Boutros Boutros Ghali, is benoemd tot voorzitter van de nationale raad, waardoor de weg wordt vrijgemaakt voor de uitvoering van de wet tot instelling van deze raad.
The EU wishes to welcome the nomination by the Shura Council of the Parliament of the Arab Republic of Egypt of the Members of the National Council for Human Rights and the appointment of the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Dr Boutros Boutros Ghali, to the Chairmanship of the National Council thus paving the way for the actual implementation of the law deciding to establish such an institution.
