In Afrika worden meer dan vijftig soorten verkocht, op markten en in restaurants, waaronder antilopen, apen, pangolins, varkens, grote knaagdieren, olifanten, reptielen – zoals slangen, hagedissen en krokodillen –, ongewervelde dieren – zoals slakken en insecten – en vogels, zoals neushoornvogels.
In Africa more than 50 species are for sale in markets and restaurants, including antelopes, monkeys, apes, pangolins, pigs, large rodents, elephants, reptiles – such as snakes, lizards and crocodiles, invertebrates – such as snails and insects, and birds such as hornbills.
