De coördinator heeft tot taak de continuïteit van het proces te bevorderen en als contactpunt voor de verschillende deelnemers te fungeren, met name teneinde de vaststelling en uitvoering van de projecten te vergemakkelijken, overeenkomstig het mandaat dat werd goedgekeurd door de Raad (zie Persmededeling 11341/97 (Presse 305)) en door de deelnemers aan de follow-up-vergadering van het proces te Istanbul op 27 oktober.
The coordinator's task is to impart a greater degree of continuity to the process and to act as a contact point for the various participants, particularly in order to facilitate the definition and implementation of projects, in accordance with the terms of reference approved by the Council (see Press Release 11341/97 (Presse 305)) and by the participants in the follow-up meeting to the process in Istanbul on 27 October.
