Wenselijk is ook een rechtstreekse maatregel om de oprichting van een echte sociaaleconomische raad in de regio te bevorderen, al was het maar omdat dit de sociale en burgerdialoog ten goede komt en om de capaciteitsopbouw bij alle lokale actoren te verbeteren. Voor dat laatste zouden specifieke financieringsmogelijkheden in het leven moeten worden geroepen.
An initiative to promote the establishment of a fully-fledged ESC in the region would be useful, also in order to promote stronger social dialogue, and improve capacity building for all local stakeholders through specific funding.

Krachtens Besluit 2008/949/EG van de Commissie van 6 november 2008 tot vaststelling van een communautair meerjarenprogramma overeenkomstig Verordening (EG) nr. 199/2008 van de Raad (6) bepaalt dat de te verzamelen gegevens sociaaleconomische variabelen moeten omvatten.
