The four-day programme will include : . Brief review of the modern science of astronomy and astrophysics; . Key role of astronomy as part of our cultural heritage; . Technological importance of current astronomical technologies; . Review of the teaching of astronomy-related subjects in European secondary schools.

De geselecteerde projecten liggen in de eerste plaats op het gebied van de natuurkunde, sterrenkunde en astrofysica, gevolgd door biowetenschappen (20 %),aardwetenschappen,milieuenenergie(16 %), ingenieurswetenschappen,lucht- en ruimtevaart (15 %), scheikunde (9 %), economie, sociale en menswetenschappen (9 %) en wiskunde, informatie- en telecommunicatietechnologie (8 %).
The main subjects concerned in the projects selected are physics, astronomy and astrophysics, followed by life sciences (20%), earth sciences, the environment and energy (16%), engineering, aeronautics and space (15%), chemistry (9%), economics and social sciences (9%) and mathematics, information technology and telecommunications (8%).
