TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Die voorschriften omvatten een geldige vaccinatie van de gezelschapsdieren in kwestie tegen rabiës, uitgevoerd met vaccins die voldoen aan de minimumnormen van het desbetreffende hoofdstuk van het Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals (Handboek inzake normen voor diagnostische tests en vaccins voor landdieren) van de Wereldorganisatie voor diergezondheid (OIE), of waarvoor een vergunning voor het in de handel brengen is verleend overeenkomstig Richtlijn 2001/82/EG of Verordening (EG) nr. 726/2004 . Those requirements include a valid anti-rabies vaccination carried out on the pet animals in question with vaccines complying with the minimum standards laid down in the relevant Chapter of the Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), or for which a marketing authorisation has been granted in accordance with either Directive 2001/82/EC or Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 .Those vaccines have proven to be effective in protecting animals against rabies and form part of the validity requirements for the anti-rabies vaccination set out in Annex Ib to Regulation (EC) No 998/2003.

In order to simplify the conditions for the non-commercial movement of pet animals of the species listed in Part A of Annex I between Member States of equivalent favourable status with regard to rabies, this Regulation should also provide for the possibility to derogate from the anti-rabies vaccination requirement.

28. Calls on the Member States to adopt comprehensive dog population management strategies which include measures such as dog control and anti-cruelty laws, support for the veterinary procedures – including rabies vaccination and sterilisation – needed to control the number of unwanted dogs, and the promotion of responsible pet ownership, as requested in its declaration of 13 October 2011;
