Member States shall ensure that the strategic noise maps they have made, and where appropriate adopted, and the action plans they have drawn up are made available and disseminated to the public in accordance with relevant Community legislation, in particular Council Directive 90/313/EEC of 7 June 1990 on the freedom of access to information on the environment(13), and in conformity with Annexes IV and V to this Directive, including by means of available information technologies.

(7) Verschillen tussen de vigerende wetten in de lidstaten inzake de toegang tot milieu-informatie waarover overheidsinstanties beschikken, kunnen leiden tot ongelijkheid binnen de Gemeenschap wat de toegang tot die informatie of wat concurrentievoorwaarden betreft.
(7) Disparities between the laws in force in the Member States concerning access to environmental information held by public authorities can create inequality within the Community as regards access to such information or as regards conditions of competition.

Onverminderd Richtlijn 90/313/EEG van de Raad van 7 juni 1990 inzake de vrije toegang tot milieu-informatie (45) kan een aanvrager de bevoegde autoriteit meedelen welke informatie, die hij commercieel gevoelig acht en waarvan bekendmaking hem op industrieel of commercieel gebied zou kunnen schaden, hij voor iedereen behalve de bevoegde autoriteit en de Commissie geheim wenst te houden.

Without prejudice to Council Directive 90/313/EEC of 7 June 1990 on the freedom of access to information on the environment (45), an applicant may indicate to the competent authority the information which he considers to be commercially sensitive and disclosure of which might harm him industrially or commercially and which he therefore wishes to be kept confidential from all persons other than the competent authorities and the Commission.
