IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Het is de bedoeling een permanente dialoog tussen EU en India tot stand te brengen over organisatorische en institutionele herstructurering en hervorming van de Verenigde Naties, in het bijzonder van de VN-werkgroep die zich bezighoudt met dreigingen, uitdagingen en verandering (UN High-Level Panel on Threats, Challenges and Change) en over de tenuitvoerlegging van de te verwachten resultaten.
The EU and India should also hold continuous dialogue on organisational and institutional restructuring and reform of the United Nations, in particular as regards the UN High-Level Panel on Threats, Challenges and Change and on the implementation of its likely outcome.

12. dringt erop aan dat de mogelijke besparingen die de gezamenlijke werkgroep van het Bureau en de Begrotingscommissie heeft geïdentificeerd verder worden onderzocht om tot aanzienlijke organisatorische besparingen te komen, zoals het toepassingsgebied van de interinstitutionele samenwerking tussen het Parlement, het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité en het Comité van de Regio's, waaruit de wil blijkt om de institutionele, politieke en wetgevende rol van het Parlement en de twee raadgevende comités te versterken; merkt op dat de herstructurering van de taaldiensten van de twee comités hun respectieve kernbeleidstaken moet verbeteren en de nieuwe onderzoeksdienst voor de leden moet versterken; benadrukt dat het Parlement door deze organisatorische hervorming de standaardleverancier voor de vertolkingsdiensten van de twee comités kan worden; steunt het idee om in kalme perioden vertolkingscapaciteit aan andere instellingen aan te bieden;

Calls for the potential savings identified by the Joint Bureau and Committee on Budgets Working Group to be explored further in order to generate substantial organisational savings, such as the scope for interinstitutional cooperation arrangements between the Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, which reflects the will to strengthen the institutional, political and legislative role of the Parliament and the two advisory Committees; notes that restructuring the Committees’ Translation Service should improve their respective political core work and strengthen the new Research Service for Members; emphasises that according to this organisational reform, the Parliament can become the standard provider for the interpretation of these two Committees; supports the idea of offering interpretation capacities to other institutions during off-peak times;
