Ik steun mijn collega-socialisten van het internationale arbeiderscomité in de regio, die oproepen tot nieuwe parlementsverkiezingen. Zij maken echter tevens duidelijk dat er alleen iets zal veranderen als de arbeiders en de boerenbevolking beschikken over hun eigen kandidaten en een onafhankelijke partij voor de arbeidersklasse om de rampzalige privatiseringen van de afgelopen twintig jaar terug te draaien, het neoliberale kapitalisme te beteugelen, daadwerkelijke democratische veranderingen in gang te zetten en nieuwe instanties op te richten die onder toezicht staan van de arbeidersklasse. Dit alles met behulp van een gedegen economische planning en een socialistische federatie van Centraal-Azië.
I support my fellow socialists from the Committee for Workers International in the region who call for elections to a new parliament but make clear that nothing will change unless workers and the rural masses have their own candidates and independent working class party to reverse the disastrous privatisations of the last 20 years, to tackle neoliberal capitalism and to institute real democratic change and new institutions controlled by working people and with genuine planning of the economy and a Socialist Federation of Central Asia.

- (EN) Mijnheer de Voorzitter, de voornaamste strategie die de Commissie van de EU tot 2020 voor Europa heeft, is vertrouwen op het neoliberale kapitalisme en een marktsysteem – met andere woorden, op precies dezelfde factoren die de huidige economische chaos in de wereld hebben veroorzaakt, wat wordt geïllustreerd door de reactie van de Commissie en de regeringen van de EU op de financiële crisis in Griekenland: een schaamteloze capitulatie voor de speculerende en profiterende haaien op de financiële markten. De Griekse arbeidersklasse, de gepensioneerden en de armen moeten toezien hoe hun diensten en levensstandaard om zeep wordt geholpen om de onverzadigbare hebzucht van de financiële markten te voeden. - Mr President, the key strategy the EU Commission has for Europe up to 2020 is reliance on neoliberal capitalism and a market system – in other words, the exact same factors that have plunged the world into the current economic chaos and illustrated in the Commission’s and EU governments’ response to the financial crisis in Greece: a shameful capitulation to the speculation and profiteering by the sharks in the financial markets; demanding that the Greek working class, pensioners and poor should have their services and living standards savaged to feed the insatiable greed of these financial markets, which are not some kind of an all-powerful god, as media commentators would have us believe, but investment banks, hedge-fund operators, bond holders and the like – parasites seeking super profits by deliberately speculating to create financial instability and then exploiting that to bleed working people.

Hoe sterker de Europese Unie haar volksvijandige opmars voortzet ten koste van de fundamentele verworvenheden van de arbeidersklasse – waarvoor harde strijd en grote offers nodig waren –, hoe wreder en barbaarser het kapitaal de volksklasse uitbuit, hoe agressiever en misdadiger de imperialistische politiek van de Europese Unie wordt ten koste van de landen en de volkeren, hoe sterker ook het anticommunisme wordt en de obscurantistische laster tegen het socialisme, zoals wij die in de twintigste eeuw hebben gekend, de kop op steekt en hoe heviger ook de voortrekkersrol van de arbeidersklasse en de onderdrukte groepen in de communistische partijen wordt aangevallen.
As the anti-grassroots attack by the European Union against the fundamental rights acquired by the working class through hard struggle and sacrifice becomes stronger, as its exploitation by capital becomes more savage and barbaric, as the imperialist policy of the European Union against countries and nations becomes more aggressive and criminal, so anticommunism, the reactionary defamation of socialism we saw in the 20 century, and the attack on the vanguard of the working class and the oppressed sections of communist parties intensify.

Dit beleid, dat volledig wordt beheerst door het beginsel van winstmaximalisering voor de Europese monopolies, draagt door de accumulatie van enorme rijkdommen op basis van de genadeloze uitbuiting van de arbeidersklasse bij tot de verspreiding van armoede, ongelijkheid en uitsluiting en ondermijnt de positie van het arbeidersgezin en verergert de problemen van de arbeidersklasse.
This policy, whose only guiding principle is the maximisation of profitability for the European monopolies, through the accumulation of vast wealth on the basis of savage exploitation of the working class, is spreading poverty, inequality and marginalisation, and is drastically eroding the position of the working-class family and aggravating working-class problems.
