1. is verheugd over de Thematische strategie voor bodembescherming van de Commissie, die aansluit bij de desbetreffende mededeling uit 2002 (COM(2002)0179, die duidelijk aantoont dat er in de EU-lidstaten nood is aan effectieve en productieve maatregelen op het gebied van bodembescherming en het voorstel ter aanname van een kaderrichtlijn bodembescherming;
1. Welcomes the Commission's thematic strategy for soil protection, following on from its 2002 communication on the subject (COM(2002)0179) which clearly demonstrates the need for effective and productive soil protection measures in EU Member States, and the proposal to adopt a framework directive on soil protection;

– gezien de mededeling van de Commissie "Thematische strategie voor bodembescherming" (COM(2006)0231) en de beoordeling van de effecten van de Thematische strategie voor bodembescherming (SEC(2006)0620),
– having regard to the Commission communication "Thematic Strategy for Soil Protection" (COM(2006)0231) and the Impact Assessment of the Thematic Strategy for Soil Protection (SEC(2006)0620),

15. verzoekt de Commissie om in de lidstaten de tenuitvoerlegging te controleren van de toepasselijke bepalingen met betrekking tot bodembescherming van andere Gemeenschapswetgeving inzake lucht, water, afval, klimaatverandering, biodiversiteit, woestijnvorming, landbouw, energie, producten, industrie, transport en regionale ontwikkeling en vóór eind 2008 verslag uit te brengen aan het Europees Parlement over de wijze waarop de bodembescherming door betere toepassing van dergelijke wetgeving kan worden opgevoerd;
15. Calls on the Commission to examine the implementation in Member States of relevant soil protection provisions in other Community legislation on air, water, waste, climate change, biodiversity, desertification, agriculture, energy, products, industry, transport and regional development, and to report to the European Parliament before the end of 2008 on how such legislation can be better used for increased soil protection;

47. Calls on the Commission to identify more structural ways to improve training and education within the European Union on soil classification, sampling, monitoring and possible best practices on soil protection, exchange of information and best practice, increasing knowledge of the importance and need for soil protection and also promoting best agrotechnical practices in agriculture aimed at restoring the productive function of soil;

9. acht een betere integratie van de bodembescherming in de communautaire beleidsmaatregelen noodzakelijk - met name dient in het kader van de Trans-Europese Netwerken en bij de toekeninning van steun uit Structuurfonds- en Cohesiefondsmiddelen en de pretoetredingssteun met de bodembescherming rekening te worden gehouden in het kader van het Gemeenschappelijk Landbouwbeleid [en] door de Europese Unie medegefinancierde (regionale) infrastructurele projecten;
9. Considers it necessary for soil protection to be better integrated into Community policies, in particular, soil protection should be taken into account in the context of the common agricultural policy (CAP), on (regional) infrastructure projects co-financed by the European Union both in connection with the Trans-European Networks, and when granting support from the Structural and Cohesion Funds and pre-accession aid;

Hierbij werd onder andere gekeken naar specifieke wetgeving en beleidsinitiatieven.
