Acknowledges that the Centre has sent to the authority responsible for discharge a report drawn up by its Director summarising the content of the Internal Audit Service (IAS)‘s recommendation, as provided for in Article 72(5) of the framework Financial Regulation; nevertheless, calls on the Director of the Centre to provide specific information on the content of the 15 recommendations opened on 31 December 2008 and the new 14 recommendations opened on 31 December 2009, in both cases by the IAS;

IV. Toezicht op de epidemiologische situatie in de GemeenschapGezien het aanzienlijke werk dat reeds is verzet om het algemene systeem voor het inzamelen van de epidemiologische gegevens te verbeteren, met name gezien de conclusies van 15 december 1988 en 16 mei 1989 van de Raad en van de Ministers van Volksgezondheid, in het kader van de Raad bijeen (1), worden de Lid-Staten en de Commissie, elk wat hen betreft, verzocht:- het algemeen systeem voor het inzamelen van epidemiologische gegevens, en met name de nationale toezichtsystemen, te blijven verbeteren; -op gezette tijden de beschikbare epidemiologische gegevens toe te zenden aan het Europees Centrum voor de epidemiologische controle op Aids (WHO-EEC-Collaborating Centre in Parijs) en zorg te dragen voor passende toegang tot de databank van dit Centrum; -de gecooerdineerde epidemiologische studies verder uit te bouwen, zodat de huidige situatie en de uitbreiding van de epidemie kunnen worden geëvalueerd; -deze informatie bij de latere ontwikkeling van preventieve en curatieve strategieën in aanmerking te nemen; -met medewerking van door de Lid-Staten en het Europees Centrum aangewezen deskundigen een methodologische aanpak uit te stippelen waarbij de epidemiologische gegevens beter vergelijkbaar worden gemaakt.
IV. Monitoring of the epidemiological situation in the CommunityIn the light of the considerable work already done to improve the general system for gathering epidemiological data, and notably the conclusions of the Council and the Ministers for Health meeting within the Council on 15 December 1988 and 16 May 1989 (1), the Member States and the Commission are requested, each as far as it is concerned, to:- continue improving the general system for gathering epidemiological data, and particularly national monitoring systems,-forward regularly to the European Centre for the Epidemiological Monitoring of AIDS (WHO-EC Collaboration Centre in Paris) the available epidemiological data and provide suitable access to the Centre's database,-develop coordinated epidemiological studies for assessing the present situation and the possible spread of the epidemic,-take account of the above information when subsequently developing strategies for prevention and care,-develop, together with experts designated by the Member States and the European Centre, methodological approaches to ensure greater comparability of epidemiological data.
