THE CONFERENCE OF PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEES FOR UNION AFFAIRS (COSAC)

Sinds 1989 zijn de leden van de commissies voor EU-aangelegenheden van de nationale parlementen voor de uitwisseling van informatie en beste praktijken en de bespreking van vraagstukken van gemeenschappelijk Europees belang twee keer per jaar bijeengekomen tijdens een conferentie van de commissies voor EU-aangelegenheden voor de parlementen van de Europese Unie, beter bekend onder het Franse acroniem COSAC.
Since 1989, members of the national Parliaments' committees dealing with EU affairs and members of the European Parliament have met twice a year in a Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs, more commonly known by its French acronym COSAC, to exchange information and best practices and to discuss issues of common European interest.

Believes that its specialised committees should be more strongly involved in the preparation of, and representation at, COSAC meetings; considers that its delegation should be led by the chair of its Committee on Constitutional Affairs and should comprise the chairs and rapporteurs of the specialised committees dealing with the items which are on the agenda of the COSAC meeting in question; considers it essential for the Conference of Presidents and Members, after each meeting, to be informed about the progress and results of COSAC meetings;
