De huidige verordening kent drie categorieën consumptiemelk die in de Gemeenschap geproduceerd en in de handel gebracht mogen worden, namelijk magere melk (maximaal 0,5 procent vet), halfvolle melk (1,5 tot 1,8 procent vet) en volle melk (minstens 3,5 procent vet).
The current regulation recognises three categories of drinking milk that can be produced and marketed in the Community. These are skimmed milk (maximum 0.5% fat), semi-skimmed milk (1.5% to 1.8% fat) and whole milk (at least 3.5% fat).
