UNDERLINING that implementing the outcomes of four consecutive international conferences the WTO Ministerial in Doha in November 2001, the UN Conference on Financing for Development in Monterrey in March 2002, the World Food Summit: five years later in Rome in June 2002 and the World Summit on Sustainable Development in August-September 2002 along with efforts to attain the Millennium Development Goals, Agenda 21 and the outcomes of other relevant UN conferences will set the multilateral agenda for sustainable development for the coming years;

HERHAALT dat de EU voornemens is een actiegericht resultaat van de Wereldtop voor duurzame ontwikkeling te bevorderen alsmede een effectieve uitvoering van de resultaten daarvan, daarbij voortbouwend op Agenda 21 en onder andere de ontwikkelingsagenda van Doha, de Conferentie van Monterrey over ontwikkelingsfinanciering en de internationaal overeengekomen ontwikkelingsdoelen, met name de in de Millenniumverklaring opgenomen ontwikkelingsdoelen.
REITERATES the EU's intention to promote an action-oriented outcome of the World Summit for Sustainable Development and an effective implementation of its results, building on Agenda 21 and, inter alia, on the Doha Development Agenda, on the Monterrey Financing for Development Conference and the internationally agreed development goals and targets, in particular those contained in the Millennium Declaration.
