Corrigendum P8_TA-PROV(2017)0311(COR01) to the position of the European Parliament adopted at first reading on 6 July 2017 with a view to the adoption of Regulation (EU) 2017/. of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD) and establishing the EFSD Guarantee and the EFSD Guarantee Fund (P8_TA-PROV(2017)0311) (COM(2016)0586 — C8-0377/2016 — 2016/0281(COD)) — BUDG Committee, AFET Committee, DEVE Committee

These windows define priority sectors for the EFSD Guarantee, identified as essential for the creation of decent and sustainable jobs in Africa and the EU Neighbourhood.

Indien het project niet voor de EFDO-garantie in aanmerking komt en aangezien de garantie doorgaans via een financiële instelling wordt doorgegeven, bezorgt het secretariaat de onderneming een lijst van relevante financiële instellingen die in de betrokken regio actief zijn.
Should the project not qualify for the EFSD Guarantee and since in general the guarantee would be passed through a finance institution, the Secretariat will suggest to the company a list of relevant financial institutions, which are active in the respective region of interest.

Indien het project wel voor de EFDO-garantie in aanmerking komt en er een investeringsvenster voor het voorgestelde projecttype bestaat (in termen van beleidsdoelstellingen, risico en prijszetting), brengt het secretariaat de onderneming in contact met de internationale financiële instelling (IFI) die dat venster beheert.
In case the project qualifies for the EFSD Guarantee and an investment window for the proposed project type exists (in terms of policy objectives, risk and pricing), the Secretariat will put the company in contact with the International Financing Institution (IFI) managing that window.

Het is de bedoeling aanvullende financiering aan te trekken, met name uit de particuliere sector, omdat de EFDO-garantie het risico voor particuliere investeringen zal verkleinen en potentiële verliezen van in aanmerking komende tegenpartijen, zoals openbare financiële instellingen en investeerders uit de particuliere sector, zal opvangen.
The objective is to leverage additional financing, in particular from the private sector, as the EFSD guarantee will reduce the risk for private investment and absorb potential losses incurred by eligible counterparts, for example public financing institutions and private sector investors.
