Supports the EU’s efforts to assist Iraq in promoting democracy, human rights, good governance and the rule of law, including by building on the experiences and achievements of the EUJUST LEX-Iraq mission, which – regrettably – completed its mandate on 31 December 2013; supports, also, the efforts of UNAMI and those of the SRSG to assist the Government of Iraq in strengthening its democratic institutions and processes, promoting the rule of law, facilitating regional dialogue, improving the provision of basic services and ensuring the protection of human rights;

1. EUJUST LEX-IRAQ shall continue to address the needs in the Iraqi criminal justice system through the provision of training for high- and mid-level officials in senior management and criminal investigation.

2. EUJUST LEX-IRAQ treedt op in overeenstemming met de doelstellingen en andere bepalingen vervat in de taakstelling in artikel 2.
2. EUJUST LEX-IRAQ shall operate in accordance with the objectives and other provisions as contained in the Mission statement set out in Article 2.

De EU herhaalt in dit verband dat zij zich inzet voor een probleemloze, effectieve overdracht van de activiteiten van de geïntegreerde rechtsstaatmissie van de Europese Unie voor Irak, EUJUST LEX-IRAQ, aan andere internationale of EU-actoren, en wil erop toezien dat bij verdere activiteiten wordt voort­gebouwd op de ervaring die de missie heeft opgedaan en op hetgeen zij heeft bereikt.
In this context, the EU affirms its commitment to a smooth and effective handover of the activities of the European Union Integrated Rule of Law Mission for Iraq, EUJUST LEX-Iraq, to other EU and international actors and to Iraqi authorities, ensuring that follow-up activity builds on lessons learnt and achievements accomplished by the mission.
