De samenwerking van het centrum met het Europees Parlement en de vergrote invloed van het Parlement bij onder meer het opstellen van het werkprogramma van het centrum, de benoeming van de directeur of de beoordeling van de activiteiten van het centrum, vormen mijns inziens weer een verdere stap op de weg naar democratisering van de Europese instellingen en een nauwer toezicht op de werkzaamheden van het Europees centrum in de toekomst.
The cooperation between the Centre and the European Parliament, and the increased influence of Parliament, for example in developing a work plan for the Centre, filling the post of director and assessing the work of the Centre is in my view one further step towards the democratisation of European institutions and towards closer monitoring of the work of the European Centre in the future.
