36. is verheugd over de goedkeuring van de verordening van het Europees Parlement en de Raad tot invoering van een mechanisme voor het oprichten van snelle interventieteams aan de grenzen, gebaseerd op het solidariteitsprincipe tussen de lidstaten; stelt vast dat in het RABIT-wetgevingsinitiatief de solidariteit op het gebied van de immigratie voor het eerst als verplichting wordt voorgesteld in plaats van slechts facultatieve optie; verzoekt de Commissie een nieuw wetgevingsvoorstel in te dienen in die zin dat het solidariteitsbeginsel ook als verplichting geldt ten aanzien van de toezeggingen van lidstaten betreffende het CRATE-register; herinnert eraan dat elke lidstaat moet zorgen voor de aanwezigheid van voldoende gekwalificeerd personeel en roept de lidstaten daarom op in te stemmen met de vorming van echte Europese snelle grensinterventieteams;
36. Welcomes the adoption of the European Parliament and Council regulation establishing a mechanism for the creation of Rapid Border Intervention Teams on the basis of the principle of solidarity between Member States; notes that the RABITs legislative initiative has, for the first time, made solidarity in the area of immigration compulsory, rather than merely optional; calls on the Commission to propose a new legislative proposal to the effect that, likewise, the principle of solidarity becomes compulsory with respect to pledges made by Member States to the CRATE; recalls that each Member State is to ensure the presence of a reserve of qualified personnel and therefore calls on the Member States to allow for the creation of genuine European rapid border intervention teams;

2. zal zich, in nauwe samenwerking met het Europees Parlement als medewetgever, inzetten voor een snelle aanneming van het Commissievoorstel voor een verordening inzake snelle-interventieteams voor de grenzen (RABIT);
2. commits itself to work, in close cooperation with the European Parliament as co-legislator, towards a speedy adoption of the Commission's proposal for a Regulation on Rapid Border Intervention Teams (RABIT);
