Stresses that the European industrial strategy should support investment and innovation in key areas for sustainable and environmentally sound growth generation, in particular by promoting sectors where Europe already leads in research and development, and encourage good quality working conditions in the enterprises targeted by investment;

31. benadrukt dat ICT een centrale rol speelt bij de overschakeling op een duurzame economie op gebieden als dematerialisatie, eco-monitoring, efficiëntie van vervoer en logistiek, e-diensten en gezondheidszorg; is ingenomen met de nieuwe Europese industriestrategie voor elektronica, die erop gericht is de chipproductie in de EU te verdubbelen tot 20 % van de wereldwijde productie; dringt aan op de verdere bevordering van de invoering van ICT in traditionele industriesectoren en de ontwikkeling van nieuwe digitale producten en diensten die bijdragen tot de doelstellingen van duurzame ontwikkeling;

Stresses the key role of ICT in the transition to a sustainable economy, involving areas such as dematerialisation, ecomonitoring, efficiency in transport and logistics, e-services and health care; welcomes the New European Industrial Strategy for Electronics which aims to double EU chip production to 20 % of global output; insists on the further promotion of the uptake of ICT in traditional industrial sectors and on the development of new digital products and services which contribute to the objectives of sustainable development;

72. verzoekt de Commissie de wereldwijde voortrekkersrol van de EU op dit gebied actief te steunen door een Europese industriestrategie voor blauwe energie te ontwikkelen, zoals zij dit in het verleden voor andere sectoren heeft gedaan;
72. Calls on the Commission actively to support the EU’s global leadership in this area by developing a European industrial strategy for blue energy, as it has done in the past for other sectors;

– (PT) Ik heb voor dit verslag gestemd omdat ik onderschrijf dat alleen een ambitieuze en milieuefficiënte industriestrategie de Europese productiecapaciteit kan vernieuwen en stimuleren en een centrale rol kan spelen bij het scheppen van hooggekwalificeerde en goedbetaalde banen in de Europese Unie.
– (PT) I voted in favour of this report as I support the idea that only an industrial strategy that is ambitious and efficient from an environmental standpoint can renew and stimulate Europe’s productive capacity, and gain a central role in the creation of highly skilled and well paid jobs in the EU.
