ANNEX II CONVENTION ON THE USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR CUSTOMS PURPOSES (Customs Information System) The Convention on the use of information technology for customs purposes, based on Article K.3 of the EU Treaty, will set up a Customs Information System.

Defence informatics, as distinct from civil informatics, consists in the rendering of turnkey services whereby the supplier has to design and build, to the armed forces' specifications, a complete data-processing system for military use.

Met de Poolse autoriteiten geeft de Commissie in belasting- en douanezaken voorrang aan de volgende punten : * Belastingwezen : . informatisering van de belastingdiensten : organisatie van een centrum voor informatica-opleiding bij het Poolse Ministerie van Financiën; opleiding van het personeel van de afdeling informatica; . opleiding van de belastingbeambten in BTW-zaken en opleiding van de toekomstige opleidingskrachten; cursus over de controlemaatregelen op het gebied van de BTW en de belasting op de inkomsten van natuurlijke personen; . aanpassing van de belastingadministratie (structuur en status van het overheidsambt); organisatie van het beroep van belastingconsulent in de particuliere sector; . oprichting van een belastingschool; . voorlichting van het publiek, met campagnes om de Poolse bevolking in te lichten over en meer inzicht te geven in de nieuwe belastingen en hun nieuwe belastingverplichtingen; in de loop van deze maand moeten de eerste belastingaangifteformulieren worden ingevuld.
The following have been identified as the main priorities in the field of customs and taxation by both the Commission and the Polish authorities: Taxation - Computerization of tax departments: establishment of an IT training centre within the Polish Ministry of Finance; training of staff in the data-processing department; - VAT training for tax administration officers and training for future trainers; course on VAT and personal income tax checks; - adaptation of the tax administration (structure and status of civil servants); launch of the profession of tax adviser to the private sector; - establishment of a tax school; - information and public awareness campaigns to inform the Polish taxpayers on the subject of the new taxes and their new tax obligations (Poland's first tax returns should be filed by its taxpayers this month).
