By making legislative provision to incorporate the workers' fund of the former Credit Bank into the Single Insurance Fund for Bank Employees (ETAT), the New Democracy government is furthering a policy previously introduced by the PASOK government when it gifted the Alpha Bank 600 million euro by incorporating the Personnel Insurance Fund of the Ionian and Popular Bank of Greece into the Social Insurance Institute (IKA).
