16. betreurt het dat aan het eerste, in december 2007 georganiseerde drugsforum voor het maatschappelijk middenveld niet werd deelgenomen door niet-gouvernementele nationale en transnationale netwerken die vooral organisaties van vrouwen, moeders en jonge meisjes vertegenwoordigen, alsmede organisaties op het gebied van seksuele en reproductieve gezondheid en rechten; doet een beroep op de Commissie de deelneming van dergelijke organisaties actief aan te moedigen, alsmede van andere organisaties die over een waardevolle ervaring met drugs en drugsmisbruik beschikken ten einde op grote schaal toegankelijke en gespecialiseerde diensten aan te bieden;
16. Regrets the lack of participation of non-governmental national and trans-national networks especially representative of women, mothers and young girls' associations as well as organisations dealing with sexual and reproductive health and rights in the first Civil Society Forum on Drugs held in December 2007; calls on the Commission to actively encourage the participation of such organisations as well as other organisations that have valuable experience relating to drugs and drug abuse in order to provide accessible and widely available specialised services;

Wat de behandeling betreft denk ik dat het belangrijk is dat de farmaceutische industrie betaalbare varianten vindt op de medicatie die in onze westerse landen wel enigszins helpt, ook als het gaat om de overdracht van de ziekte van moeder naar kind.
As far as treatment is concerned, I believe it is important for the pharmaceutical industry to find affordable alternatives to the medication which is of some help in our Western countries, also where transmission of the illness from mother to child is concerned.
