This Regulation lays down the maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination of food as set out in Annex I, the maximum permitted levels of minor food as set out in Annex II, and the maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination of feed as set out in Annex III, which may be placed on the market following a nuclear accident or any other case of radiological emergency which is likely to lead to or has led to significant radioactive contamination of food and feed, and the procedures to render these maximum permitted levels applicable.

In april 2010 heeft de Commissie een herschikkingsvoorstel ingediend voor Verordening (Euratom) nr. 3954/87, waarin de maximaal toelaatbare niveaus van besmetting van levensmiddelen en diervoeders worden vastgesteld ten gevolge van een nucleair ongeval of ander stralingsgevaar, voor Verordening (Euratom) nr. 944/89 van de Commissie, waarin de maximaal toelaatbare niveaus van radioactieve besmetting van minder belangrijke levensmiddelen worden vastgesteld na een nucleair ongeval of ander stralingsgevaar, en van Verordening (Euratom) nr. 770/90 van de Commissie, dat de maximaal toelaatbare niveaus van radioactieve besmetting van diervoeders omvat ten gevolge van een nucleair ongeval of ander stralingsgevaar.
In April 2010, the Commission brought forward a proposal for a recast of Council Regulation (Euratom) No 3954/87 laying down maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination of foodstuffs and of feedingstuffs following a nuclear accident or any other case of radiological emergency, Commission Regulation (Euratom) No 944/89 laying down maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination in minor foodstuffs following a nuclear accident or any other case of radiological emergency and Commission Regulation (Euratom) No 770/90 of 29 March 1990 laying down maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination of feedingstuffs following a nuclear accident or any other case of radiological emergency.

(3) Bij Verordening (Euratom) nr. 3954/8717 van de Raad zijn maximaal toelaatbare niveaus vastgesteld van radioactieve besmetting van levensmiddelen en diervoeders ten gevolge van een nucleair ongeval of ander stralingsgevaar dat waarschijnlijk zal leiden of heeft geleid tot de radioactieve besmetting van levensmiddelen en diervoeders.
(3) Council Regulation (Euratom) No 3954/87 lays down maximum permitted levels of radioactive contamination to be applied following a nuclear accident or any other case of radiological emergency which is likely to lead or has led to significant radioactive contamination of food and feed.

Concluderend is de Commissie van mening dat de uitvoering van het plan voor de lozing van radioactieve afvalstoffen, in welke vorm ook, uit de Nationale Opslagplaats voor radioactieve afvalstoffen, gelegen naast de kerncentrale van Mochovce in Slowakije, gedurende de normale operationele levensduur en na de definitieve sluiting ervan, alsook in het geval van een ongeval van het type en de omvang als bedoeld in de algemene gegevens, niet het risico doet ontstaan van voor de volksgezondheid significante radioactieve besmetting van het water, de bodem of het luchtruim van een andere lidstaat.
In conclusion, the Commission is of the opinion that the implementation of the plan for the disposal of radioactive waste in whatever form arising from the National Radioactive Waste Repository located adjacent to the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant site in Slovakia, during its normal operational life and after its final closure, as well as in the event of accidents of the type and magnitude considered in the General Data, is not liable to result in a radioactive contamination significant from the point of view of health, of the water, soil or airspace of another Member State.

Concluderend is de Commissie van mening dat de uitvoering van het plan voor de verwijdering van radioactieve afvalstoffen, in welke vorm ook, uit de IRAW-CRAM-Opslagfaciliteit voor radioactief afval, gelegen naast de Nationale Opslagplaats voor radioactieve afvalstoffen te Mochovce in Slowakije, zowel in normale bedrijfsomstandigheden als bij een ongeval van het type en de omvang als bedoeld in de algemene gegevens, niet het risico doet ontstaan van voor de volksgezondheid significante radioactieve besmetting van het water, de bodem of het luchtruim van een andere lidstaat.
In conclusion, the Commission is of the opinion that the implementation of the plan for the disposal of radioactive waste in whatever form, arising from the IRAW-CRAM Storage Facility for Radioactive Waste located adjacent to the National Radioactive Waste Repository at Mochovce in Slovakia, both in normal operation and in the event of an accident of the type and magnitude considered in the General Data, is not liable to result in a radioactive contamination, significant from the point of view of health, of the water, soil or airspace of another Member State.

Concluderend is de Commissie van mening dat de uitvoering van het plan voor de verwijdering van radioactieve afvalstoffen, in welke vorm ook, uit de East Northants-faciliteit voor de verwijdering van laagactief afval, gelegen in Northamptonshire in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, gedurende de normale exploitatieperiode en na de definitieve sluiting, zowel bij normale bedrijfsvoering als bij een ongeval van het type en de omvang als bedoeld in de algemene gegevens, niet het risico doet ontstaan van radioactieve besmetting van het water, de bodem of het luchtruim van een andere lidstaat.
In conclusion, the Commission is of the opinion that the implementation of the plan for the disposal of radioactive waste in whatever form arising from the East Northants Low-level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility in the United Kingdom, during its normal operational life and after its final closure, as well as in the event of an accident of the type and magnitude considered in the General Data, is not liable to result in the radioactive contamination of the water, soil or airspace of another Member State.

Concluderend is de Commissie van mening dat de uitvoering van het gewijzigde plan voor de verwijdering van radioactieve afvalstoffen van de Pegase-Cascad-faciliteit gelegen op de locatie van Cadarache in Frankrijk, zowel bij normale bedrijfsvoering als bij een ongeval van het type en de omvang als bedoeld in de algemene gegevens, niet het risico doet ontstaan van radioactieve besmetting van het water, de bodem of het luchtruim van een andere lidstaat.
In conclusion, the Commission is of the opinion that the implementation of the plan to modify the disposal of radioactive waste from the Pegase-Cascad facility established on the Cadarache site in France, both in normal operation and in the event of an accident of the type and magnitude considered in the General Data, is not liable to result in radioactive contamination of the water, soil or airspace of another Member State.

Concluderend is de Commissie van mening dat uitvoering van het gewijzigd plan voor de lozing van radioactieve afvalstoffen, in welke vorm ook, van de kerncentrale van Dampierre, zowel onder normale bedrijfsomstandigheden als in ongevalssituaties van de aard en omvang als aangeduid in de algemene gegevens, niet zal leiden tot een radioactieve besmetting van het water, de bodem of het luchtruim van een andere lidstaat.
In conclusion, the Commission is of the opinion that the implementation of the amended plan for the disposal of radioactive waste in whatever form from the Dampierre nuclear power station, both in normal operation and in the event of an accident of the type and magnitude considered in the General Data, is not liable to result in the radioactive contamination of the water, soil or airspace of another Member State.
