NEEMT NOTA van de aan de Raad en het Europees Parlement gerichte mededeling van de Commissie "Evaluatie van het milieubeleid 2003", in het licht van de nieuwe politieke context van het EU-milieubeleid die is ontstaan nadat, in 2001, de strategie voor duurzame ontwikkeling (SDO) was aangenomen en IS VAN OORDEEL dat de evaluatie van het milieubeleid een cruciaal instrument kan worden voor het toezicht op en de evaluatie van de uitvoering van het zesde milieu-actieprogramma (MAP) en dat zij ook een bijdrage moet vormen voor de voorjaarsbijeenkomst van de Europese Raad en de evaluatie van de SDO, onder meer door de verschillende Raadsformaties een goede basis te verschaffen om te evalueren in welke mate de doelstellingen inzake duurzame ontwikkeling zijn gehaald;
TAKES NOTE of the communication from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament "2003 Environment Policy Review" (EPR), in the light of the new political context of the EU environmental policy since the adoption of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) in 2001, and CONSIDERS that the EPR could become a key instrument for the monitoring and the evaluation of the implementation of the 6th Environment Action Programme (EAP) and should also contribute to the Spring European Council and the SDS review, i.a. by providing a good basis for the different Council formations in reviewing the implementation of sustainable development targets;
