IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

– gezien de definitieve aanbevelingen van de stuurgroep nationale parlementen van 20 december 2011 in het kader van het Verdrag van Lissabon,
– having regard to the final recommendations of 20 December 2011 of the steering group on relations with national parliaments under the Lisbon Treaty,

16. ziet een verheugende ontwikkeling in de acties die - ingevolge de aanbevelingen van de stuurgroep voor de betrekkingen met de nationale parlementen - zijn ondernomen sinds de inwerkingtreding van het Verdrag van Lissabon om de samenwerking tussen de nationale parlementen en het Europees Parlement te intensiveren, met name de planning en de toename van het aantal interparlementaire commissievergaderingen (50 sinds 2010), de informatieverstrekking aan leden en relevante politieke organen over door de nationale parlementen ingediende stukken (met redenen omklede adviezen en bijdragen), de invoering van visioconferenties, de bevordering van bilaterale bezoeken, technische verbeteringen in de interparlementaire EU-informatieuitwisseling (IPEX), de toename van de samenwerkingsprojecten onder de hoede van het Europees Centrum voor Parlementair Onderzoek en Documentatie (ECPRD), en bezoeken van beleidsambtenaren en uitwisseling van informatie en beste praktijken; is van oordeel dat deze acties bijdragen tot meer efficiëntie en gerichtheid in de interparlementaire betrekkingen en tegelijkertijd bijdragen aan parlementaire democratisering;
16. Welcomes the actions that have been taken – in accordance with the recommendations of the steering group on relations with the national parliaments – since the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon to intensify cooperation between the national parliaments and the European Parliament, in particular as regards the planning of interparliamentary committee meetings, the increase in the number of such meetings (50 since 2010), the forwarding to members of the national parliaments and relevant political bodies of national parliament submissions (reasoned opinions and contributions), the introduction of videoconferences, the promotion of bilateral visits, technical improvements to the InterParliamentary EU information eXchange (IPEX), the increase in the number of collaborative projects carried out under the aegis of the European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD), visits by administrative officials and the exchange of information and of best practice; believes that these actions help to make interparliamentary relations more efficient and more focused, while contributing to parliamentary democratisation;

Mijnheer de Voorzitter, de stuurgroep voor de strategie van Lissabon van het Parlement heeft gisteren afgesproken continu te zullen doorwerken en van onze kant kan ik het voorzitterschap van de Raad, de Commissie en ook de collega's in het Parlement en de collega's van de nationale parlementen verzekeren dat wij ons verder positief zullen inzetten en dat men op onze samenwerking kan rekenen om de doelstellingen te halen.
Mr President, Parliament’s steering committee for the Lisbon strategy agreed yesterday to work flat out, and, for our part, I can assure the Council presidency, the Commission, together with my fellow Members of this House and the members of the national parliaments, that we will continue to be firmly committed to achieving the objectives, and our cooperation with that end in mind can be relied on.
