Door hier in dit Parlement een project voort te brengen dat het gehele spectrum van de publieke opinie in Europa beslaat, een compromis dat aanvaardbaar is voor zo'n brede meerderheid, hebben we een proces in gang weten te zetten dat ons heeft gebracht waar we ons nu bevinden en waarbij de ontwerp-Grondwet het kroon op het werk van Spinelli zal zijn.
By thrashing out a project here in this House – which represents the full spectrum of public opinion in Europe – a compromise acceptable to such a wide majority, we were able to set in motion a process which has taken us to where we are today and where the draft Constitution will be the crowning glory of Spinelli's efforts.
