De joint-venture zou namelijk de prikkel krijgen om concurrenten van Airbus uit te sluiten of hun toegang tot een aantal belangrijke onderdelen te beperken, met name: i) Hall effect elektrische motoren (HET's) voor satelllieten; ii) koolstof/koolstof-cilinders voor beeldsatellieten; iii) Standard Accuracy Pressure Transducer (SAPT's) voor satellieten, en iv) hittebeschermingssystemen (TPS) voor civiele terugkeercapsules (REB's).
Indeed, the joint venture would have the incentive to shut out Airbus' competitors or limit their access to a number of important components, namely: (i) hall-effect electric satellite thrusters, (ii) carbon-carbon cylinders for optical satellites, (iii) standard accuracy pressure transducers (SAPTs) for satellites and (iv) thermal protection systems for civil re-entry bodies.
