TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Net als mijn collega's van de Union pour la Démocratie Française (UDF) heb ik voor de resolutie ter ondersteuning van het door het Spaanse parlement goedgekeurde vredesinitiatief in Baskenland gestemd.
Like my colleagues in the Union for French Democracy (UDF), I voted in favour of the resolution in support of the peace initiative in the Basque country, adopted by the Spanish Parliament.

– (FR) Mijnheer de Voorzitter, wij zijn bij de UDF zeer krachtig voorstander van het verslag van de heer Eurlings, omdat het uitgesproken waarheden bevat die ook gezegd moeten worden.
– (FR) Mr President, we, in the UDF, very strongly support Mr Eurlings’s report, because it contains some very powerful truths that must be made known.

Het werkelijke plan B was namelijk de intrekking van de Bolkestein-richtlijn. Zonder het "nee" van de referenda in Frankrijk en Nederland zouden de socialisten, de groenen, de UMP en de UDF, allen voorstanders van de Europese Grondwet en van meer concurrentie in Europa, zich niet zo resoluut tegen het oorsprongslandbeginsel en tegen de aanvallen op de commerciële en niet-commerciële openbare diensten hebben gekeerd.
The real plan B was in fact the withdrawal of the Bolkestein Directive because, if it had not been for the ‘No’ vote in the referenda in France and the Netherlands, the Socialist Group in the European Parliament, the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance, the UMP and the UDF – which are all in favour of the European Constitution and of increased competition in Europe – would not have shown such determination to denounce the country of origin principle and the attacks on commercial and non-commercial public services.
