De procedure voor de actualisering van Beschikking 884/2004/EG bepaalt dat de Commissie voor 2010 een verslag moet opstellen over de voortgang van de werkzaamheden, en eventueel voorstellen moet doen voor de wijziging van de lijst met de in bijlage III opgesomde prioritaire projecten. The process of updating Decision No 884/2004/EC stipulates that the Commission draw up a state of play report on the work by 2010 and, where necessary, proposes changes to the list of priority projects listed in Annex III. In het kader van Verordening 1467/94 hebben alle projecten die door de diensten van de Commissie na twee oproepen tot het indienen van voorstellen (23 december 1994 en 19 april 1996) zijn geselecteerd, dezelfde structuur en hetzelfde uitgangspunt: een communautair programma voor het opstellen van een inventaris en voor agronomische karakterisering van slechts één soort of één type per project.

Daartoe heeft zij de procedures voor het indienen en het beheer van projecten vereenvoudigd, zodat rekening kan worden gehouden met de specifieke problemen waar het MKB zich voor geplaatst ziet (1) - Uitvoerbaarheidspremies - BRITE-EURAM : financiële deelname in de kosten van de voorbereiding van projecten. - Euromanagement-OTO : OTO-audit voor het identificeren van kleine en middelgrote ondernemingen die kunnen deelnemen aan communautaire onderzoeksprogramma's en om deze bedrijven te helpen bij het opstellen van voorstellen. - CRAFT (Cooperative Research Action for Technology) : steun aan werkzaamheden van onderzoekscentra voor samenwerkings- verbanden van MKB's die zelf niet over de nodige onderzoekscapaciteit beschikken. - EUROTECH CAPITAL : proefproject voor steun voor de financiering van transnationale hoogtechnologische projecten via maatschappijen voor risicodragend kapitaal. - VALUE (Valorisation and Utilisation for Europe) : steun voor de verspreiding van resultaten van alle onderzoeks- programma's, met name door de oprichting van gegevensbestanden, informatiecentra en door partnerschap tussen onderzoek en industrie. - SPRINT (Strategic Programme for Innovation and Technology Transfer) : Verspreiding van nieuwe technologie, met name door de koppeling van nationale netwerken en infrastructuren.
